Operation Love 2011Helping Tampa’s Homeless and Elderly
Proverbs 19:17 tell us: He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and that which he has given He will repay to him. So, thank you in advance for giving into this Annual Christmas Outreach event. Operation Love began December 2004, as a means to share the love of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. It has been amazing to see the love of all of you, by giving into this event, through the outpouring of donations that we have received. We will be distributing the gift bags on Christmas day, which is on Sunday this year.
If you are available and would like to be a part of this outreach event you may help out in the following areas: We need volunteers on Friday December 23 @ 6pm, to help organize and prepare all gift bags. On December 25, at 12:30pm, we need volunteers to help transport and distribute gift bags on Christmas day. Immediately following our ministry time in downtown Tampa, the team will minister to those within Robles Park community (low income housing). We need volunteers to help set up ministry tables, to distribute clothes to many of the families in need and toys for the children. We also need volunteers who are able to pray and minister to the residents in that area.
Our goal is to distribute 150 Christmas bags and we still need some specific items. Here are some suggestions: children books new or used, fast food gift cards, children socks, children toys (used or new), Mouthwash, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant (travel sizes), Christian magazines or books, bibles, and cds.
